James N. Stanard, PhD

James Stanard - past Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of RenaissanceRe Holdings - a company he founded in 1993. From 1971 until 1983, Mr. Stanard held various actuarial, underwriting and management positions at INA Re, Chubb and Prudential Re. In 1983 he served as Executive Vice President of F&G Reinsurance, and in 1991 as Executive Vice President and a member of the Office of the President of USF&G. Mr. Stanard holds a B.A. in Mathematics from Lehigh University, a Ph.D. in Finance from New York University and is a fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society.
