Travel Documents:
- Return airline ticket
- Proof of citizenship (For US/Canada citizens, bring a passport, birth certificate, U.S. voter registration card, OR Canadian certificate of citizenship or landed immigration status).
- Bermuda visa required for some countries. Please check with BIOS Education Department for this information.
- Transit visa required for non-U.S./Canadian citizens traveling via the U.S.A.
- Signed U.S. customs registration forms for easy reentry of foreign cameras, etc. going with you outside the U.S.
Individual Field Trip Gear and other Personal Items:
- Jeans, shorts and shirts
- dive card if you plan to use SCUBA*
- rain jacket or slicker
- mask, fins and snorkel
- 2 pairs of sneakers
- underwater camera/dive light (optional)
- camera
- photographic film if required (it's very expensive in Bermuda)
- 2 bathing suits
- beach towel
- knapsack or day-pack for transporting gear
- sunscreen, hat and cover-ups
- pocket flashlight (BIOS is not well lit at night)
- eye glasses (spare pair; no optician near BIOS)
- Dramamine or motion-sickness patches
- bathrobe and slippers (for possible shared bathroom facilities)
- hand calculators (if work requires calculations)
- personal hygiene needs (toothpaste, shampoo, razors, tampons etc.)
- pencils, pens, lab and note books
* Diver registration forms available upon request. You cannot dive at BBSR without filling out the proper forms.
