Local Outreach: Waterstart

2008 Waterstart Program Information
Waterstart Ltd. is a registered charity with a mission to promote environmental awareness and personal growth. Our goal is to foster respect and appreciation for Bermuda's natural environment. We provide opportunities for exploration and discovery, and we teach skills that prepare students for safe recreation and future employment.

Waterstart programs involve a balance of aquatic skill lessons, environmental investigations and team building / fun time. Activities may include lessons in diving, field trips to mangrove swamps and caves, kayaking excursions, coral reef research, plankton microscope labs, cooperative initiatives and snorkel trips. Participants are given a log book in which they make environmental observations and record their skill levels in a variety of aquatic activities.
