Fees

Fees can be paid in either of two ways:

  1. Fees should be paid to the school issuing credit (i.e., the home college/university for each student), on the schedule that they set. Please see your Study Abroad Office (or Office of International Studies) to determine if your home school has a partnership agreement with BIOS.
  2. Fees should be paid directly to BIOS for those students who are taking courses and:
    • Do not expect or need academic credit
    • Taking courses for credit at their home institution as "Independent Study" (or similarly named course).

Fees for Spring 2008 are expected to be ~$9,000 for each session or ~$17,000 for both sessions. Please remember that substantial scholarships are available.

The fee includes cost of room, board and tuition for the semester. BIOS provides full meal service in a cafeteria with both inside and alfresco seating. Rooms are generally twins with shared bathrooms in the halls. All lab fees and field trip costs are included. Each school assesses a fee for issuing credit and may also include a charge for transcripts, an off-campus study fee, an administrative fee, and require insurance if you do not have appropriate coverage. Please ensure that you check with the relevant Study Abroad Office. Airfare and personal entertainment expenses are not included in any assessed fees.

BIOS does not provide medical insurance. All students are required to purchase an overseas medical insurance policy and ensure that they have adequate medical coverage.
